Philadelphia 76ers "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Sixers in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.

One of the premier teams in the NBA, the Philadelphia 76ers have a history rich in tradition and star power. Beginning in the 1949-50 season as the Syracuse Nationals, the early years for the franchise were dominated by Dolph Schayes. Schayes would average 18.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game in his 15 seasons, earning 12 All-Star appearances and leading the team to the playoffs every season, and winning an NBA Finals in 1954-55. The Wilt Chamberlain era would begin in 1964-65, and in he would arguably experience the greatest four seasons in a career filled with great seasons. In his time in Philly, Chamberlain would win three MVP awards while winning the NBA Finals in 1966-67. The Julius ‘Dr. J.’ Erving era would kick off in 1976-77 when the team would acquire the ABA Superstar and set off on a tremendous eleven year run with him. Moses Malone, Mo Cheeks, Andrew Toney and Erving would combine for one of the greatest runs through the playoffs ever, losing only one game in the playoffs en route to a title in 1982-83. That team would be known as the ‘Fo-Fo-Fo’ team (‘Fo’ being the amount of games that Malone expected each series to take). Charles Barkley would arrive in town in the 1980’s, and instantly become a star (though not a Role Model, famously). The team would fail to reach a Finals with him, but to this day the blame of that goes on the front office, rather than Barkley. The late 90’s and early 2000’s were Allen Iverson’s in Philadelphia. The Answer would captivate fans nationally and locally, and despite his stature would play bigger than most of the largest giants the game had ever seen. In the mid 2010’s the Sixers went through The Process, and as painful as it was they came out of it with Joel Embiid, who looks to be one of the handful of greatest stars Philadelphia has ever seen. While Embiid has yet to break through into the Finals, it seems like only a matter of time, and Sixers fans — some of the best in the entire league — can’t wait for it.
