Florida Gators Football "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Gators in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.

Despite a history that goes all the way back to the 1906 season, the Florida Gators program didn’t truly lift off the ground until far more recent memory, but since joining the ranks of the elite the team has been one of the most dominant, most consistent winners the sport has ever seen. The 1950’s and 1960’s would see the program reach their highest historical highs to that point, living in the AP Top 25 almost every season, but it wasn’t until 1985 that they would reach the #1 overall spot in the poll that the team began to truly rise as a National Superpower. The arrival of Steve Spurrier in 1990 would forever alter the trejectory of the program, as Florida would spend the next 11 years absolutely dominating the sport, winning 9-12 games every single season every year during the stretch, as well as a National Championship in the Sugar Bowl in 1996. In 2001 Spurrier would leave to try his hand at the NFL level, but in 2005 the team would bring in Utah coach Urban Meyer, who would somehow improve on the gaudy expectations that Spurrier had set 15 years prior. Meyer would win 9, 13, 9, 13, and 13 games in a five year stretch, winning two BCS title games in the period alongside one of the greatest college football players of all time in Tim Tebow. Meyer & Tebow would leave the program, with the Gators fading a bit in the national spotlight in the years since, but they remain a consistent force every year no matter the Head Coach, and always seem to be one player — one bounce of the ball away — from competing for SEC and National Championships.
