Detroit Lions "Every Game In History" Data Poster
What better way to show off your fandom of the Detroit Lions than this poster that showcases every game the team has ever played (updated through the end of the 2023 season)? Zoomed out this piece works as an almost abstract pixel-style design that can uniquely adorn your classiest of rooms, but up close it becomes a treasure trove of information, documenting every game in history along with the date, opponent and score. Sports art doesn’t have to be shoved into the basement, garage or mancave… It can be thought provoking and elegant, a centerpiece for a gathering place of your home. This high-quality print (available in 24x36 and 12x18 sizes) shows your undying love for the Lions while also bringing class to your living area.
Established in 1930 as the — and this is real — Portsmouth Spartans, the Detroit Lions are one of the oldest NFL teams currently in existence. That has, unfortunately, not translated to championship or playoff success. The Lions did have a bit of early success. In 1935 the team bubbled up and won a title in the Dark Ages of Football, during a 7-3-2 season. Again, with a bit better of a track record the team won titles in 1952 and 1953, and then again in 1957. But then in 1970 the NFL and AFL merged, and it seemed with it came an extended period of disappointment for Detroit Lions fans. From 1970 to now, the Lions have (amazingly, really) only made it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs four times. And it hasn’t been for lack of players, either. Matt Stafford, Barry Sanders, Herman Moore, Calvin Johnson… The team has been stocked with talent throughout the years, but something about the DNA of the team has kept them back. In 2021, the team hired Dan Campbell to lead them, and as a culture coach he has been an absolute game changer. Alongside Jared Goff and a team of extremely talented offensive skill players, the Lions suddenly look formidable in a way that they haven’t since… Maybe ever? Detroit Lions fans are some of the best on the planet, and are more desperate for greatness than anyone, and the Lions seem primed to give them some very soon.
