Denver Nuggets Abstract Bauhaus-Inspired Squares Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. With a focus on color and simplicity of design, these Bauhaus-era inspired posters will bring a beautiful flourish to your interior space, and show off your design-forward aesthetics.

Beginning play in the 1967-68 season, The Nuggets proved to be the model of consistency, as guys like Spencer Haywood, Dan Issel, Kiki Vandeweghe, Alex English and Fat Lever would all help the team make the playoffs every single season but two in their first 22 years (9 in the ABA, 13 in the NBA). The franchise would lack the high-end star power that would allow them to battle with the Lakers or the Celtics of the era, but the blueprint the Nuggets would follow would allow them to win 45+ almost every year. The 1990’s would be a mostly forgettable decade for Denver, though they would etch their names in the history books in the 1993-94 season when they would become the first 8 Seed to upset a 1 seed in the NBA playoffs when they knocked off the vaunted Seattle Supersonics with Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. In 2003-04 the team would draft star forward out of Syracuse Carmelo Anthony with the #3 overall pick in the NBA draft, and over the course of the eight seasons that Melo was in Denver the team would make the playoffs every season. Again, the Nuggets would have a penchant for getting to the dance and doing nothing in it, losing in the first round seven of those eight seasons. In 2014 the Nuggets would take a flyer on a Serbian big man with a doughy midsection with the 41st pick in the draft. His name? Nikola Jokic, though odds were good that nobody needed remembering the name — guys selected at that point in the draft rarely become role players, let alone household names. Jokic would begin his career as a stat-stuffer — A great passer and rebounder who had a nifty skill set that led him towards triple-doubles. But as he grew, Jokic would become a superstar and then inarguably the best player on earth. In 2022-23 he would lead the Nuggets all the way to the NBA Finals, winning it over the Miami Heat. Jokic is climbing his way up the ladder of All-Time Greats, and when all is said and done he may be the greatest big man to ever play, and as long as he’s in Denver the Nuggets go into every season as one of the favorites to win a title.
