Tennessee Titans "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Titans in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.

Beginning their history as the Houston Oilers all the way back in the now-defunct AFL in 1960, the Tennessee Titans past has been defined by long-term quarterbacks leading the team to great heights, but never quite getting over that hump and winning a Super Bowl. Contradictory to this idea, the Oilers were actually the first team to ever win an AFL title, taking home the championship in both 1960 and 1961, and coming up just short in the title game again in 1962. The team would meander about a bit until the mid-1980’s with the arrival of Hall of Famer Warren Moon. Moon would be atop the league leaders in passing attempts and yards for the Oilers for almost an entire decade, and would bring the team to seven straight playoff berths in his time in Houston… But the team would never get past the Divisional Round. In an AFC dominated by the Bills, Browns and Broncos, the Oilers seemed to always be on the outside looking in. The late 90’s would see the ascension of Steve ‘Air’ McNair as the quarterback of the team, once again bringing regular season respectability to the team, as the team snuck their way into the Super Bowl in 1999. They would fall just short to the St. Louis Rams and The Greatest Show On Turf, but McNair set a new standard for where the team’s expectations would lie. The late 2010’s would see yet another emergence from the team — This time led by Ryan Tannehill and head coach Mike Vrabel. This version of the team was a lot more run-centric and seemed to always overshoot their expectations season-to-season and game-to-game. Though they would again never reach the promised land, this Titans team would also go down in Tennessee hearts forever because of their grit and determination.
