North Carolina Tar Heels Football "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Heels in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.

Beginning play all the way back in 1902, the Carolina Tar Heels football program is often viewed as second class to their world renowned basketball team, but for college football historians it’s a program deeply rooted in tradition, greatness and a standard for excellence. Carl Snavely, James Hickey, Bill Dooley, Dick Crum… The head coaches historically that have landed in Chapel Hill are a who’s who of legends, and that’s before you even get to the late 1980’s and the tenure of Mack Brown, who would undoubtedly prove to be the greatest of them all. The mid-1990’s would be the programs strongest year-over-year stretch, as Brown would lead the Heels to 10+ wins in three out of five seasons from 1993-1997. Brown would leave the program for the Big Bucks and Bright Lights of Texas after the 1997 season, and the program would falter in the new century, but Chapel Hill would continue to churn out top-end NFL talent every single season. Brown would return in 2018, and would immediately re-build the standard of excellence that North Carolina once was defined by. As the 2020’s move on, North Carolina remains a top-flight college football program, always a recruit or two away from true greatness.
