New Orleans Pelicans "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Pelicans in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.

Beginning play in 2002-03 as the New Orleans Hornets (Eventually the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, and then adopting the Pelicans name in 2014-15), the Pelicans are the NBA’s newest franchise, with a history that is still being written. The team’s premier superstar in the early years was Chris Paul, who would earn the Point God nickname playing with David West and Tyson Chandler. The team would trade Paul away leading up to the 2011-12 season, and would embark on a teardown that would last only one season in earnest. In 2012-13 the team would draft generational prospect Anthony Davis with the #1 Overall pick in the NBA Draft, setting course on their next defined era. Beyond his rookie year, Davis would be an All Star every season in New Orleans, though would never get past the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Pellies would attempt to pair Davis with fellow big man Boogie Cousins in a real Shoot The Moon experiment in 2016-17, and while the team would be really devastating when those two were on the court together, injury and contract/competitive issues would push the team to move on and traded Davis in 2018-19. The Zion Williamson era would come next, but like with the Anthony Davis era for the Pelicans, injury has derailed a very promising young talent for the team. While Brandon Ingram (acquired from the Davis trade) continues to be one of the most consistent star players in the league, the Pelicans will look for Zion to contribute moving forward to reach that new level that New Orleans fans are so desperate to finally reach.
