The Pellies would attempt to pair Davis with fellow big man Boogie Cousins in a real Shoot The Moon experiment in 2016-17, and while the team would be really devastating when those two were on the court together, injury and contract/competitive issues would push the team to move on and traded Davis in 2018-19. The Zion Williamson era would come next, but like with the Anthony Davis era for the Pelicans, injury has derailed a very promising young talent for the team. While Brandon Ingram (acquired from the Davis trade) continues to be one of the most consistent star players in the league, the Pelicans will look for Zion to contribute moving forward to reach that new level that New Orleans fans are so desperate to finally reach.
