Minnesota Twins Abstract Bauhaus-Inspired Squares Poster
Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. With a focus on color and simplicity of design, these Bauhaus-era inspired posters will bring a beautiful flourish to your interior space, and show off your design-forward aesthetics.
Beginning play in 1901 as the Washington Senators, the Twins history includes the great Walter Johnson, who would compile an ungodly 152.4 WAR in his over twenty five years pitching for the team. In 1961 the team would move to Minnesota and begin their modern history. The Tony Oliva/Harmon Killebrew years would soon follow, and the team would make the World Series in 1965 and top out in the ALCS in both 1969 & 1970. Burt Blyleven and Rod Carew would highlight the transition from the 70’s into the 80’s, but towards the end of the 1980’s something was brewing in Minneapolis when home grown stars like Kent Hrbek and Kirby Puckett began graduating to the Major League team. Fellow role players like Gary Gaetti and Greg Gagne had exceptional years and in 1987 the Twins ran all the way to the World Series, winning it in seven games over the St. Louis Cardinals. Four years later the Twins would again find themselves in the World Series, this time against the Atlanta Braves. Jack Morris would famously be the story of this World Series run, as he would start three games in the seven game series, including a complete game shutout in Game 7 to close it out. The 2000’s would bring constant heartache for the team, though it would only come about through consistently winning during the regular season. The Twins would make the postseason in ten of the first 23 seasons of the new century, though would famously keep running into the Yankees for years, and never get past them. The Twins would also go on an inconceivable postseason winless streak — 18 games — that would span from 2004 - 2020. The Twins are at a middle-road at this point in history, but the team has proven time and time again that tanking is not an option, and above all else they always seem to find a way to compete. Twins fans are thankful, and will forever be with them on that pursuit.
