Los Angeles Clippers Abstract Bauhaus-Inspired Squares Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. With a focus on color and simplicity of design, these Bauhaus-era inspired posters will bring a beautiful flourish to your interior space, and show off your design-forward aesthetics.

Starting play in the 1970-71 season as the Buffalo Braves, the Los Angeles Clippers have had a long, hard road to get where they are, but it can be easily argued that the best era of Clippers basketball is happening in front of our eyes right now. The early days were defined by Bob McAdoo. McAdoo, a prolific scorer, would move on from Buffalo around the same time the franchise would move to San Diego, and eventually the team would settle in Los Angeles in 1984-85. The early 90’s would see the arrival of college superstar Danny Manning, but like many stars before (and in the future) of the franchise, Manning would prove to disappoint on the NBA level. The Corey Maggette/Elton Brand era would come with the early 2000’s, and though they’d show some promise that team would also never reach anything higher than a first round playoff exit. In 2009-10 the Clippers drafted Blake Griffin out of Oklahoma with the 1st overall pick, and along with trade acquisition Chris Paul in 2011-12, the team would embark on their greatest stretch of success in their history. From 2011-12 to 2016-17 the Clips would make the playoffs every season, almost doubling their entire output up to that point. The Clippers would be hated by rivals, a tough team that did the dirty work, but they could never go beyond the Conference Semifinals. In 2019-20 the team was able to lure superstars Kawai Leonard and Paul George to town, and despite some injury issues early on in their tenure, the duo has come together the second half of their time in LA and look to be a force to be reckoned with for the immediate future.
