Kansas City Chiefs "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Chiefs in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.

The Kansas City Chiefs history began as the Dallas Texans, all the way back in 1960. 1963 would see both a move (to Kansas City) and name change (to Chiefs) in what would ultimately begin the franchise’s modern-day history. Led by one of the first great post-NFL/AFL merger stars in Len Dawson, the Chiefs would go on to win Super Bowl IV over the Minnesota Vikings, establishing an early culture of winning in Kansas City in the new era of the NFL. Shortly after their Super Bowl win, the Chiefs would run into a disappointing stretch of losing, but in the early 90’s Marty Schottenheimer came to town, and with him he brought a new offensive mindset in KC. Using a rotating cast of signal-callers, Schottenheimer would bring the Chiefs to seven playoffs in eight seasons, and while the team was never able to get over the hump, the fans and front office felt something now more than ever: Kansas City is a town of winners. The early 2000’s would see great players like Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Tony Gonzalez, and Jamaal Charles come and go, and while the Chiefs were always competitive, they never seemed to reach that elite tier of contenders… Until the arrival in 2017 of Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is one of those singular talents that most teams in most sports never see. A winner through-and-through, someone capable of bringing mediocre teams into Super Bowls, bringing awful teams into playoffs. Alongside coach Andy Reid, Mahomes won a title in 2019. Reached (but lost) the Super Bowl the following year. Won another title in 2022. Won yet another title the following season… As long as Mahomes calls KC his home, the Chiefs go into every season with a chance to win a Super Bowl, and for KC fans around the world to be amazed while they do it.
