Indianapolis Colts "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster

Unitas would move on after that season, and the Colts would enter into their most fallow period, reaching the playoffs only seven times in the next 28 seasons. A move to Indianapolis would in 1984 would shake things up a bit, but it wasn’t until 1998 and the drafting of Peyton Manning would yet again shift the direction of the history of the franchise. Over the next thirteen seasons, the Colts with Manning would reach the playoffs every season but two (one of which was his rookie campaign), reaching double digit wins every single one of those playoff years. Manning would set franchise records all over the place (as would Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Edgerrin James), as well as pace himself as one of the small handful of greatest quarterbacks to ever live, eventually hoisting a Lombardi trophy in 2006 as the winner of Super Bowl XLI. Andrew Luck would follow in Manning’s footsteps, and played lights out for the team for seven years, though chose to retire early in light of injury concerns. To this day the Colts remain one of the most storied franchises in the history of the league with a rich tradition of quarterback play.
