Florida State Seminoles Football "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster
Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Noles in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.
The modern era for Florida State football began in the mid 1950’s. Independent from a major (or any) conference, the Seminoles would begin to build a name for themselves in the 1960’s under Head Coach Bill Peterson. Bowl wins in five of the seven years from 1964-1971 would spell the beginning of FSU’s rise to the Big Boys Table of college football, but in 1976 the school would hire Bobby Bowden, and the trajectory of hte program would forever change. A 5-6 rookie season from the coach would be the last sub-.500 campaign the team would see that century, and the last Bowden would see until his retirement in 2009. During the almost 35 season run, FSU would only miss the postseason three times (‘76, ‘78 & ‘81). They would join a power conference (ACC) in 1992. They would win two National Championships (‘93 & ‘99). They. would go fourteen straight seasons with 10+ wins (1987-2000). Bobby Bowden was on top of the college football world. After his retirement in 2009, Jimbo Fisher would come in and raise the ceiling yet again for the Noles, winning another title in 2013 on the back of Jameis Winston. The Mike Norvell era would begin in earnest in 2020, and after a rough start, Norvell got the ball rolling in Tallahassee with 10 wins in 2022 and 13 — and a Playoff appearance — in 2023. Now primed to become a National Player again, the Florida State Seminoles go into every season looking to at least challenge for College Football Playoff spots, but more realistically with shots at National Titles yet again.
