Cleveland Cavaliers Abstract Bauhaus-Inspired Squares Poster
Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. With a focus on color and simplicity of design, these Bauhaus-era inspired posters will bring a beautiful flourish to your interior space, and show off your design-forward aesthetics.
The history and legacy of the Cleveland Cavaliers is largely built on the ground of one man — LeBron James. Prior to the arrival of The King in Cleveland, the Cavs were largely irrelevant for years. Established in 1970-71, the team wouldn’t gain much traction until the late 1980’s when they would be able to assemble a team led by Mark Price & Brad Daugherty. Daugherty would fizzle out as a prospect, unfortunately, and heading into an era in which Michael Jordan’s Bulls would prove to be an Alpha Predator, nobody would have a tremendously successful 1990’s. As the world moved from the early to mid aughts, something began happening, however. The Cavs were terrible, absolutely devoid of talent. But a high school player out of nearby Akron, OH was gaining acclaim as one of the greatest NBA prospects in the history of the sport. The Cavs would somehow get the #1 pick in the year when hometown LeBron James would become available, and the rest is history. LeBron would become one of the two greatest players in the history of the league, leading Cleveland from 2004-2010 and again from 2014-2018. The Cavaliers would make the playoffs every season but his rookie year, making five NBA Finals and winning one. The Cavs would be one of the only teams to stop the dynastic Warriors, defeating them in 2015-16 in one of the greatest NBA Finals series we’ve ever seen. James would eventually leave the franchise for the Lakers, but he’ll always be remembered as the state and city’s favorite son for winning them a title. The 2020’s have yet to bring titles, but the team is competitive and strong as any Cavs team outside of the LeBron era; Darius Garland and Evan Mobley look to be building blocks to what Cleveland hopes will be the next great Cavs teams on the horizon.
