Cleveland Browns Abstract Bauhaus-Inspired Squares Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. With a focus on color and simplicity of design, these Bauhaus-era inspired posters will bring a beautiful flourish to your interior space, and show off your design-forward aesthetics.

There are generations of fans that simply do not understand the rich, storied history of the Cleveland Browns. Because of the timing of the inception of the Super Bowl in 1969, championship victories from prior to that era are often deemed ‘less than’. But from 1946 - 1965 the Browns tore through all opponents in front of them (be it the AAFC or NFL, which they joined for good in 1950), winning eight total championships and losing in the title game another five times. Cleveland was as good as it got in terms of football dynasties. In the mid-1980’s, Marty Schottenheimer took the reins of the team, and alongside Bernie Kosar the Browns became one of the most exciting teams in all of football, but were never able to get over the hump in their quest to reach the coveted Super Bowl — they would fall in the AFC title game, famously, three times in four seasons. In 1999, the Browns franchise was born anew in the ashes of Art Modell stealing the team to Baltimore, but have struggled mightily in their 20+ seasons back in town. Most famously hitting impossible depths during the Hue Jackson era, the Browns dropped down to 1-15 and 0-16 in consecutive seasons, and became synonymous with the football version of The Process. The Browns in the early 2020’s appear to have righted the ship, however, and look to be a team — a franchise — capable of competing every season moving forward. Cleveland fans will hope the future brings a marriage of the great history of the team and an exciting, optimistic present.
