Chicago White Sox Abstract Bauhaus-Inspired Squares Poster

from $35.00

Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. With a focus on color and simplicity of design, these Bauhaus-era inspired posters will bring a beautiful flourish to your interior space, and show off your design-forward aesthetics.

The history of the Chicago White Sox began in 1901. Led by George Davis, the team would win the 1906 Word Series, and they’d go on to win it again in 1917 behind Eddie Collins. The White Sox would lose the 1919 World Series under controversial conditions as ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson and seven other members of the team would be outed as having gambled on the team to lose. Jackson, of course, played at an MVP level in the World Series, and to this day it is largely assumed that he was framed in the entire ordeal. The Luke Appling era would span to Luis Aparicio era, all of which would happen under a championship drought for the Sox, 40 years in all. The 1990’s would bring a new era for the team as Jack McDowell and Frank Thomas, the Big Hurt, would win 94 games in 1993, but would ultimately fall in the ALCS to the eventual champion Blue Jays. In 2005, the team would finally break their lengthy championship curse as a team lead by A.J. Pierzynski, Paul Konerko and Mark Buehrle would capture the title over the Houston Astros in a sweep. The modern day history for the team has been thin, but with players like Luis Robert, Dylan Cease and Jose Abreu they have seen some major talent come through Chicago. Until the time when the Sox bubble back up, the fans will be waiting with baited breath.
