Auburn Tigers Football "Modern Iconography" Statistical Poster
Sports art doesn’t need to be in-your-face. It can be elegant, stylish, even thought-provoking. These large-scale modern-style prints can certainly fit in a garage or man cave, but they’re most at home in a dining or living room adorned by thoughtful interior design. Created using visual iconography and showcasing historical and statistical data (updated for the 2024 season), these posters tell an elaborate story of the legacy of the Tigers in a design-forward manner and will undoubtedly enhance any space you choose to display it in.
Dating all the way back to the nineteenth century, in 1892, the Auburn Tigers have built one of the richest, most storied histories in all of college football. The team would only start to truly compete on the largest of stages upon entering the SEC in the 1933 season. After about twenty years of floundering, the hiring of head coach Ralph Jordan would usher in a new era of Auburn football, as the team would reach post-season play in twelve of the twenty one seasons that Jordan was in town, and most notably would claim a National Title in 1957. Jordan would retire, but Auburn would never again be down for long, failing to poll in the Top 25 AP Poll in a season only eight years since 1976. Pat Dye, Terry Bowden, Tommy Tubberville would all come and go, and lead the team to extraordinary heights, but it wasn’t until the 2010 season, under Gene Chizik and a superstar transfer from Florida named Cam Newton, that Auburn would have their season for the record books. Newton would lead the team to an unbelievable 14-0 record, capped off with a title win over the Oregon Ducks in the BCS Championship game in January. While teams win championships every season, maybe no one has ever had a season like that. As the 2020’s roll on, Auburn looks to regain it’s position atop the pecking order in all of college football.
